Time for a pair of replacement clutches (because they need to be done together) to be done at either your local dealer or specialist. Before modifying the VW Golf R, we are doing a full vehicle Scan. Okay - that is going to be one of a couple of things:ġ) You've got oil pressure issues within the gearbox / blocked filter which is causing the clutch for gears 1,3,5 and 7 not to properly engageĢ) You've genuinely got a warn clutch. while the ignition on with the dash lights showing, press down on the accelerator for 30 seconds, and then start the car without turning off, it should restore the gearbox to the default setting, and clear any faults. it would slightly slip, so before any expensive garage costs, I did a reset on the DSG gearbox. I have a Skoda Octavia 2015 DSG 7 speed gearbox, the car has done 55000 miles, I incurred a fault in the odd gears 1, 3, 5 and 7. Thanks for the help i do appreciate the help I have already tried both ways of doing it as per Google and your posts above Tony and to be honest it does not seem to have made a difference to me as it felt sharper and smoother after the oil had been changedĪs RRG says below what i am after is best doing via VCDS and then clutch and pump pressure can be optimised. The change would be quite subtle in most instances but I cannot imagine that you would have anything to lose by trying it - Give it a go (and let us all know if it helps!).TonyĪfter changing the oil today everything felt better and although i need to take it on a run to get the oil as thin as possible and then any issues show up (do not turn off the ignition prior to starting the vehicle as it will void the reset). Release the accelerator and start the engine.I am unable to edit my reply above so here is a modified version of the reset procedure, including the change in step 3: (Maybe I did not remember it quite correctly. However some say that as regards step No: 3 after releasing the accelerator pedal, that the vehicle must not be turned off - but started! to do otherwise would "void" the reset. Well I have since checked several threads, courtesy of "Google" and they all come up with the same procedure as our Skoda dealers service tech's answer. I have today changed the dsg oil and although the oil was very dirty and so was the filter there were no metal fragments to be seen so thats a partial relief, The way to do it is with the VCDS and then its not guaranteed to work, Thanks for your input Tony but as far as i am aware from what i have read it doesn't do anything as the only way to make the ECU learn is to do the settings via the VCDS as above but as usual i am quite willing to be educated by people with superior knowledge  Whilst the instructions are for the 7 speed DSG box, they may well hold true for the 6 speed such as yours. They are always willing to talk and I asked what the reset involved.
Our service techs were explaining to me what they had done when we had the "7 speed DSG oil change" recall done. Now take it for a drive, driving as is your normal driving style and the box will relearn your driving style.
Release the accelerator and turn off the ignition.Fully depress and hold the accelerator in that position for about 10 seconds (You may hear / feel a click).Turn the ignition on, without starting the engine. This was told to me by our very co-operative service techs. If what you are looking for is to reset the DSG gear box into "Learning Mode"?
